Salman Khan will play Rehman's role in this remake of 'Sahib Biwi Aur Ghulam' |
Pritish Nandy is ready with the star cast for 'Saheb Bibi Aur Ghulam', which will be directed by Rituparno Ghosh. Priyanka Chopra will play chhoti malkin (Meena Kumari's role in the 1962 original) Salman Khan will play Rehman's role of her husband, chhote babu. Both have signed on the dotted line.
John Abraham is likely to play (not signed as yet) Guru Dutt's character Bhootnath. Saif Ali Khan was also approached for this part but wasn't too enthusiastic about doing another historical role, so soon after 'Parineeta'.
Sanjay Dutt was the original choice for the role of chhote babu, but Salman too was keen on playing the part. Nandy tilted the scales in favour of Khan. Also, Aishwarya Rai was the original choice for Priyanka's role. Either Esha Deol or Vidya Balan will play the role of Waheeda Rehman. |
