'Swades', the movie that critics/trade experts said would flop on the day
it released, had them citing imaginary collections of 18-40 percent and a
fictitious budget varying from 25 to 35 crores (actually 20 to 22 crores).
Well, it has managed to collect 22 crore worldwide up until the third
weekend, with about 14 crores from India and 7.25 crores from just UK and
US.
The collections in the second week, according to the annual issue of
India's number one trade magazine, "maintained well in the multiplexes but
dull otherwise." The movie is looking to be at least average in India. |
