Tandav Films Entertainment Ltd., a production house that caters to serious and creative films with mass appeal is coming up with its debut film 'Khosla Ka Ghosla'. The unusually titled film is scheduled to hit cinema halls by March 2004 and has already created unprecedented interest in the industry circles because of its incredible story, unusual characters and extra-ordinary performances.
Tandav Films, believes in preparing for a completely new way of its promotion, the like of which has been rarely seen in India. It is set to have shunned usual publicity formulas completely, banking instead on the unusual story idea and the performances that have been described by those who have seen the rushes as world class.
Written by award winning scriptwriter Jaideep Sahni of 'Company' fame, it was the script, says Savita of the production house, that made her throw all formula film-making rules out of the window. "It’s very rare to find a script that you pick up and can’t put down till you’ve reached the last scene. The moment I finished reading the script, I knew I was looking at something very special. It made me laugh, it made me cry."
The cast of the film include Anupam Kher, Praveen Dabbas, Tara Sharma, Boman Irani Joneja, Ranvir Shorey, Naveen Nishol and other senior theatre actors from Delhi. The film is directed by Dipankar Banerjee. Zee Music is releasing the film’s music. The International theatrical rights have already been picked up.
Tandav Films came into being in 2002. The board comprises of professionals from the world of Advertising, Cinema and Marketing. It is an assembly of professionals who have always stayed close to people and are sensitive to their aspirations, creative urges and sense of well-being. Tandav Films plans to produce and release 10 full-length feature films within five fiscal years beginning 2003-04. Tandav Films is also in the process of developing quality content for popular media other than Cinema. |
