Saas Bahu Aur Sensex |
The English version of 'Mujh Mein Nigahien Daal De' is a better one and more in sync with the musical arrangements and super fast rhythm. Monica does well here though she overdoes the 'Ooh and aahs' part in her over enthusiasm and sounds funny, to say the least.
The album comes to a close with 'Mithri Mithri', a quintessential 'Bhangra' laced dance track composed by Bipin Panchal. The song commences with the famous 'Bhangra' rhythm (used by Anu Malik in 'Chori Chori Chupke Chupke' 'Karde Dhamaal Punjabi'). The rap portions as well as the Punjabi ones are interesting, albeit both have a heard before feel to it. But it's the 'antara' that is a letdown as the song becomes more of a romantic number rather than keeping up the celebration and festive spirit of the song alive. Some may find this a unique combo of "Bhangra romance". New singer Krishna Beurra has pleasant sounding vocals. Raqueeb Alam comes in as the lyricist once again and pens a nice, befitting the situation composition and we have the director herself, Shona Urvashi who write the Sindhi lyrics, note the repeated 'Jhule Laal' in the song
On the whole, 'Saas Bahu Aur Sensex' is an album that has nothing worthwhile to offer, except to an extent 'Mithri Mithri' and Javed Ali's romantic number "Abhi abhi To Aayee Ho.". It is nowhere near the level of Shona Urvashi's 'Chupke Se'. It is simply a case of too many cooks spoil the broth!
