We have saved the best for last. Yes, 'Saaiyan' is by far the best track of the album, one that has a tremendous repeat value. Vishal has always been a favourite and has rendered some lovely unforgettable numbers like 'Azmale' from 'Taxi No.9211'. As always, his singing is top-class. This 'Sufi-ish', largely philosophical, situational track could be used in the background, at an important juncture in the movie.
'Saaiyan' borders on rock towards the latter part. The theme music of 'Ta Ra Rum Pum' is also incorporated to good effect.
The lyrics (in 'khadhi boli') ,Ek banjara ektare par kabse gave, Jeevan hai ek dor, Dor uljhe hee jaave, Raahi ka to kam hai chalta hee jaave, Saaiyan ve, Saaiyan ve, Sun saaiyan ve,, by Javed Sahab are simply superb.
All in all, V-S have once again delivered the goods, as per the makers' wishes. All the compositions go well with the mood and theme of 'Ta Ra Rum Pum' and take the story forward. The response by way of cross-the-counter-sales has been impressive, though 'Life in a... Metro' is giving it a run for its money.
