For all those who relished the music of the first episode (that's how the artists in question call it) of 'Munnabhai MBBS' and long for more 'dhamaal'/'bindaas' style songs, similar to the rocking title track, and the song 'n' dance item number 'Dekh Le' and 'Chanda Mama' (the down and out Anu Malik's tunes blended beautifully with the movie), the wait is finally over!
We have with us the music of the second episode (mind you it's not a sequel) of the cult movie, which moved a nation to laughter and tears simultaneously and struck a chord with everyone. Let us proceed on a predictable (still expected and awaited!) joy ride with 'Munna Bhai' (Sanjay Dutt) and 'Circuit' (Arshad Warsi)!
We run into the title track first up - 'Lage Raho Munnabhai'. Sanjay Dutt's voice post 'Khalnayak' (Vinod Rathod), is in rocking form as he mouths Swanand Kirkire's very apt lyrics - "Bole toh bole toh kaisi hogi hai, Aisi ya vaisi arre kaisi hogi hai, Apun ko jaisi mangta hain waisi hogi hai, Hai re hai, Hai re hai, Lage Raho Munnabhai."
It is basically an easily infectious, catchy, 'Mumbaiyya lingo', semi-'tapori' song, where 'Munnabhai' (tells) shares with favourite sidekick 'Circuit', his apprehensions and expectations about his imaginary beloved. There is also a reference to the 'khopdi' of RGV's 'Satya'! The background chorus going "Hai re hai, Lage Raho Munnabhai" adds more charm and zest to the song.
The 'Lage Raho Munnabhai (Remix)' starts off with slow flute and whistling sounds. Later on, the song picks up and after a while the pace gets blistering. This time it is Shaan (instead of Vinod Rathod) who does a superb job. Jatin Sharma puts in the Crazy Frog (TM) tunes (in parts of the remix) and a voice saying "Munnabhai" adds a zanier dimension to the original composition.
