'Paisa' - Power - Politics, that's the tagline for Madhur Bhandarkar's latest offering, 'Corporate'. So should we music buffs expect some good musical offerings from the team that gave us the surprise metro success 'Page 3'?
Incidentally, Bhandarkar has retained the same 'Page 3' team of Shamir Tandon and Sandeep Nath for 'Corporate'. So lets go for the audio remote!
The first composition, 'Lamha Lamha Zindagi Hai' is a philosophical, thought provoking song, sung in a style reminiscent of the Gulzar/R.D. Burman days. The use of minimum background musical instruments highlights Asha Bhonsle's super smooth, silken and ageless vocals. Lyrics by Sandeep Nath are appropriate - "Lamha lamha zindagi hai, Lamha lamha kal tha, Aaj bhi hai". If we compare this song to 'Huzoor-E-Aala' from 'Page 3', 'Lamha Lamha' is somewhat better.
The second version is 'Lamha Lamha' (Sad Version) and like its title, it is a super slow, very short, situational number.
The next number 'O Sikander' features thrice, once as original, secondly as 'Desi Mix' and for the third time as 'International Dance Mix'.
