It is always a different experience to review an album where there are little or no associated expectations but (somehow) one gets a feeling that it will turn out to be pleasant surprise, based on the few samples being aired. So let us checkout if it indeed is true in the case of 'The Film' audio.
The first track is 'Hum Bade Hue' and according to one of the lead actors of 'The Film', the first four stanzas of this song is essentially what the movie is all about. It starts with an extremely melodious tune and Lucky Ali's voice takes this track to greater heights with the rest of the singers (Khalid, Sowmya and Smita) giving him able support. The incorporation of Hindi and English nursery rhymes (in the original tune) like 'Chanda Mama Door Ke', 'Twinkle Twinkle Little Star', etc., make this song really unique. As the whole song unfolds, it engulfs one completely with its simplicity, melody and the old world charm and innocence. In fact, this one is a sort of journey of all the aspirants from their native places in different parts of India to the preferred land or as they say 'Karam Bhoomi' Bombay, the land of dreams and aspirations. A delightful track on the whole. All credit to lyricist and music directors Samidha- Khalid.
