The team of Himesh Reshammiya and Sameer combine once again for an album that marks the debut of one of the most popular music directors of today but this time as a playback singer. Yes, we are obviously referring to Himesh. Unlike some of the other composer-singers (especially recently) the two songs that Himesh has sung are getting extremely popular by the day. What a debut!

Popularity aside, let us now check out the album and see what 'Aashiq Banaya Aapne' has to offer. The title track 'Aashiq Banaya Aapne' has Himesh lending his voice to a song that is just superb. The lyrics and arrangements are par excellence, the rhythm deadly and infectious. Himesh's unique nasal singing catapults the song to greater heights and he seems to be quite a good singer. This should serve as a benchmark for the likes of Anu Malik and Bappi Lahiri who sing (in their albums) just for the sake of it.

Back to the song; check out Sameer's simple but appealing lyrics - "Aashiq banaya aapne, Tere bin sooni sooni hai bahen, Tere bin pyasi pyasi nigahen, Tere bin bin asar meri aahen." (Notice the beautiful lyrical use of 'bin' in succession).
