The team behind Taarzan consists of producer Gordhan Tanwani, who has churned out blockbusters like 'Ishq', 'Pyar To Hona Hi Tha', 'Dulhan Hum Le Jayenge' and 'Tumko Na Bhool Payenge', director duo Abbas-Mastan who have given thrillers like 'Khiladi', 'Baazigar', 'Darrar', 'Ajnabee' and 'Humraaz'. The music is by Himesh Reshammiya who has given chartbusting songs in films like 'Pyar Kiya To Darna Kya', 'Jodi No.1', 'Humraaz' and 'Tere Naam', which won him couple of awards. And now Himesh has done it again. By now, the young composer has made it a habit to churn out foot-tapping music. And 'Taarzan-the Wonder Car' is no different.
In fact, the nine tracks in the album are one up on the other. It begins with the lilting duet 'O sajan legaya jo mera man' by Udit Narayan and Alka Yagnik. It has a youthful feel and both the rendition and the orchestration, are exemplary and linger on. Special mention should also be made about the arrangement in the interlude. Another duet 'Chura lo', also by Udit and Alka is another simplistic number, which has the potential to become a great hit. While 'Gonna fall in love' by Kunal, Alka and Jayesh Gandhi is an attempt at fusion, which is at best, passable. The title track 'Taarzan...' by Kumar Sanu and Jayesh Gandhi is outstanding. It includes the signature tune too. The extensive use of sequencer and the obligarto in the antara have been very cleverly used to maximum effect. For pure classy touch, this is the pick of the lot, though the opening number is the most popular. To be fair, 'Oh lala re' is imminently forgettable, whereas all other versions of the title track including the instrumental are spellbinding. On the whole if you are looking for something different for your ears give it a try!
