Jatin Lalit finally emerge back on the scene with an album that gives them full credit for music direction. The duo were rather unhappy the way their names had been ignored in the music album of Aankhen. 'Kehta Hai Dil Baar Baar' gives them enough scope and space to give their type of fluffy romantic feel good music. The film has Jimmy Shergill and Kim of Mohabbatein fame.
Udit Narayan and Sadhna Sargam croon the opening track, 'Deewano Ko Pata Hai' with the much-needed sincerity. The song has a gentle and soothing melody with some good lyrics by Sameer. The track has the typical Jatin-Lalit trademark of the use of soft instruments, and a chorus that hums the main melody in the background.
Shaan is emerging as a major contender for Sonu Nigam in the area of mushy romantic numbers. He sings 'Aasman Se Chand Laoon' which does remind you a bit of the 'Chaand tare tod laoon' from Yes Boss. The song again is very soft and mellow on your ears, and there is not unnecessary use of bass and heavy instruments. The lyrics are simple and easy to comprehend. Melody wise it an average track, but Shaan has worked his way nicely with the musical arrangement.
'Dhol Baje' seems like a navratri, garba track that makes way for some dandiya dance. The song is not fast paced, and is sung by Udit Narayan and Kavita Subramaniam. The last part of the song definitely is reminiscent of 'Dholi taro dhol' from 'Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam'. The picturisation of the song should give it a face-lift.
