Though 'Krishna Cottage' does not mark Anu Malik's return to the top of the charts, its music is somewhat better than some of his other small projects/banners of late.
Malik brings in Sunidhi Chauhan to sing a bold 'Bindaas' number. For this Sanjay Chhel written number, Sunidhi delivers the goods with confidence.
A slow song follows the 'Bindaas' quick paced track. Malik shows his sonic-aesthetics even in the slow number, ‘Suna Suna‘. Shreya Ghoshal's rendition is superb.
Apart from these two contrasting numbers, two more compositions are worth mentioning. The Sameer-written 'mauj-masti' song 'Aaju Mein Tum Khade The Baaju Mein Hum Khade The' rendered by Kumar Sanu and Alka Yagnik, has lots of dhols and electronic rhythms. Alka is good and Sanu is perfect as ever, even in a song that is not his forte.
Another fast paced song, 'Hamesha', is composed by 'Jhankaar Beats' fame duo Vishal-Shekhar, where Vishal reveals his talents as a decent singer.
In addition to the five numbers of the film, the album carries two bonus tracks from 'Samay' and 'Bollywood Hollywood', namely 'Laila Laila' and 'Rang Rang' respectively, which carry on the tempo set by the four fast tracks of 'Krishna Cottage'.
If you have to buy an album as a rule or routine, it's a decent album. But if you are selective with your choices, it might serve you well to wait for some forthcoming albums.
