Director Vipul 'Aankhen' Shah is back and this time with a family drama in the form of 'Waqt - The Race Against Time'. Vipul is sticking with the main cast of 'Aankhen' in this film too, as Waqt stars the likes of Amitabh Bachchan, Paresh Rawal, Akshay Kumar, Priyanka Chopra and his own wife Sehfali Shah. In a nutshell, the movie revolves around the father-son relationship between Ishwar Sharawat (Amitabh Bachchan) and Aditya (Akshay Kumar).
'Waqt' was launched in late November of 2003 and went over budget. But Vipul Shah passionately continued his journey and now the film is slated to be released in April of this year. The month will also see the release of another big-budget film, Karan Johar's Soham-directed 'Kaal'.
On to the story: Ishwar Sharawat and Sumi (Shefali Shah) both adore their only son, Aditya but differently. While Ishwar is totally blind to Adi’s faults and indulges him, Sumi, well aware of her darling son’s shortcomings is always cautioning her husband not to spoil him so much.
Having been brought up the hard way, Ishwar feels his son deserves nothing but the best and Adi shamelessly takes total advantage of his father's love for him. Ishwar is a generous and a big-hearted man, making sure to spread as much joy as he can to children. During the festive season of Diwali, he distributes toys to the orphans.
