The four lines above summarize the essence of Raincoat, Bengali director Rituparno Ghosh's first Hindi film. It brings the immortal romance of Radha-Krishna to mind, in this sweet yet poignant story of two star-crossed lovers.

A Bihari television businessman named Manoj (Ajay Devgan) finds himself down-and-out, reduced to begging his friends for money, in order to start a new business venture. But no matter what he does, the thoughts about the love of his life Niru (Aishwarya Rai) is always with him. Unfortunately, six years earlier Niru went along with her mother's wishes and married a successful entrepreneur, instead of Manoj.
