Mohan (Shah Rukh Khan) is a NASA engineer working on a rainfall monitoring satellite known as the Global Precipitation Measurement (GPM), which is lifted into an orbit aboard a Space Shuttle. In the process, he is nearly lost to his lucrative job. Before this happens, he decides to take a much needed break, leave the States and return to both his homeland and childhood sweetheart Geeta (Gayatri Joshi), who is now a school teacher. He also takes the opportunity to embark on a journey of enlightenment, embracing his cultural background through song and dance.
