Shankar Ehsaan Loy's music is good and very in sync with the feel of the movie. Also, Prasoon Joshi writes wonderful lyrics, especially in "Maa". The editing though falters, as the film seems go on and on. If only the film was tighter, especially the second half, the film would have been a breeze. Setu's cinematography is very good. And yes, Amole Gupte has written a truly wonderful script! The film is a brave effort by Aamir Khan, the director, as the film is not just about a dyslexic kid but it continues to keep him the central character throughout. Aamir Khan, the actor, is just another character in the story and makes his entry just before the interval point. Though it has been publicized as a children's film, it is more of a film about children and a must watch for all parents. Although the story has its shortcomings, things are repetitive and songs pop up every now and then, there is no denying that this is still a very good film. This one is a definite must watch! **** (Four Stars) |
