The Telugu version of this film, called 'Aithe', was released way back in 1993. It was a blockbuster … though the same cannot be said about this Hindi version, '50 Lakh'.

Five friends, comprising of Ramu (Mohit Chadha), Shankar (Janardhan Vempati), Kumar (Shashank), Vivek (Abhishek) and one girl Aditi (Sindhu) want to get rich quick. They take a route to that, which is not exactly legal. Irfaan Khan (Pawan Malhotra) is a don who decides to shift operations to Dubai. He decides to hire some youngsters to help him achieve his exodus … basically people with no criminal record. How the lives of the five friends and the gangster get entwined forms the rest of the plot.

The plot is excellent and the movie starts off very well but after a point, it is downhill all the way. Also, the production values and cinematography (Senthil Kumar KK) are extremely tacky. Too many cinematic liberties are taken and the plans adopted are quiet amateurish.

Director, Chandrasekhar Yeleti does an average job with this film. At the box office, this film seems to have bleak prospects, as the publicity also is not up to the mark.
