The spate of boring films being churned out from PNC continues with 'Bow Barracks Forever'. Their intentions of making hatke films is appreciable, but it tends to conclude more often than not with dismal results. The film is based on a true story, about an Anglo Indian community residing in the Bow Barracks locality of Kolkatta. The community comprises of many interesting people. There is Peter - The Cheater (Victor Bannerjee), who is a con man. Emily Lobo (Lillette Dubey) is a wine and cake seller, whose principal agenda is, to go to her son in London. Her other son Bradley (Clayton Rogers), tries his level best to keep his ever cribbing mother happy. And yes...there is also Bradley's domestically abused neighbor Anne (Neha Dubey), who his also his object of desire. Then there is Rosa (Moon Moon Sen) who has an adulterous relation with her insurance agent. All the characters are attached in some manner or other to their respective homes and go all out to save it. There are some other characters as well, but the lesser said about them, the more it would save you the pain of reading it. However what I went through while watching this film cannot even be put down on paper. |
