'Phir Hera Pheri' is an attempt to cash in on the success of 'Hera Pheri' and it does so in a big way. The response to the film is superb. So is the initial. Finally one sequel has worked in Bollywood.
But on the downside, we have to add right in the beginning that the film lacks Priyadarshan's master touch in quite a few places. There's confusion in some scenes with the performances not quite up to the mark. The comedy in these parts also tends to go overboard.
Neeraj Vora proves it once again that he's good at dialogues and script but does not make for a good director.
Don't know if Priyadarshan will feel flattered or irritated when he hears of his signature chase scene in the climax of all his films being used in this film too. This bit is sure to appeal big time to the masses. That the film will be a huge hit is a foregone conclusion. But there's lot of slapstick comedy involved so some may think of the film as being silly.
