It's a very Mumbai-centric film because of the dialogues and one-liners. It's quite a wacky film too again because of the tongue in cheek humour. It's a typical Mumbai kind of fun film with the perfect blend of emotions. It's not a typical masala film. Thankfully no unwanted melodrama. What really works for the film is its simplicity.
It's a story about two characters; Nana Patekar and John Abraham, how they meet and the relationship that develops between them, told in the most simple and unpretentious manner. Of course, need we add that Nana Patekar's superb performance gives it that 'real' feeling? Although it feels like a fun film on the surface, it also throws light on relationships and friendships without getting preachy.
Now for the story. Raghav Shastri (Nana Patekar) is short tempered and a slightly crazy lower middle class guy. He has changed 23 jobs in the last fifteen years. He is an LIC agent to his wife but in reality he's a taxi driver. Although he's ready to draw swords with anyone who rubs him up the wrong way, he loves his wife (Sonali Kulkarni) and young son. His wife is always short of money to pay the grocer, and their kid's school fees.
