Paresh Rawal is a scene stealer yet again. He is brilliant in every scene. It's difficult to pinpoint one scene. But the way he breaks into a dance at Rimii's video shoot is a howler.
Shahid Kapoor underplays his part beautifully although he reminds one of Hrithik Roshan of 'Koi Mil Gaya' in the initial scenes. He looks charming and plays his part well but unfortunately doesn't have much footage in the film. However, he makes an impact with his electrifying dance number.
Rimii Sen is competent as an actress but needs to seriously do something about her clothes and makeup. She could also work a bit on her body and build up a toned body if she wants four men panting for her.
Om Puri and Johny Lever are excellent, as usual. Vijay Raaz, as Akshay's sidekick is hilarious. Suresh Menon, the South Indian son of the North Indian don is fantastic. Asrani and Rakesh Bedi are just wasted. Ditto for Aftab Shivdasani and Sunil Shetty, although the latter plays his part well in the few scenes that he has. Viveik Anand Oberoi (Vivek Oberoi reborn with a major numerology hangup) is the sutradhar (narrator) but his on-screen presence was not really called for.
On the whole, 'Deewane Huye Paagal' is a thoroughly enjoyable entertainer complete with music, stunts, and action. A sure-shot hit at the box-office!
