A Still from 'Kyon Ki' |
The film lacks punch somehow. At times it also seems a little old-fashioned, so count the youth out of this. Given the festive season too, its chances seem quite bleak. But Salman fans may lap it up. Of the songs, 'Dil Keh Raha Hai' sounds very melodious.
But this is Salman Khan's film. He seems to have put his heart and soul into it. Also he seems tailor made for this role. It's fun to watch him behave like a child, sometimes sweet at times naughty. The actor has truly shed all his inhibitions and gotten into the character.
Kareena Kapoor looks and behaves in a natural way, for a change. None of those silly clothes and pouts or attitude. She looks good in her starched cotton saris with very little makeup. Rimii Sen makes up for the lack of glamour in the film. She is good in a brief role. Jackie Shroff is likeable. Sunil Shetty is wasted in a brief role. Om Puri is perfect. Manoj Joshi is loud but fun. Watch this film if you love tragedy.
