This is a well-packaged film and keeps you engrossed because of its rich look. But it still lacks the power to grip. On the positive side, it has a plethora of characters who are good actors. They all suit their characters too. What is irritating is the narrative form of the film. At times the conversations are long and boring. The film also moving back and forth rapidly, between the past and present, is irritating.
Now for the story. 'Chocolate' is about seven main characters, all Indians living in London. Sim (Tanushree Dutta) is a sexy woman and a temptress. Rocker (Suniel Shetty), an obsessed lover, wants to marry Sim. Pipi (Irrfan Khan) is a painter. Tubby (Arshad Warsi) is a happy go lucky guy. Devaa (Emran Hashmi) is passionate about his music.
The five make music at night and carry on with their work during the day. They are involved with crime. Krish (Anil Kapoor) is a famous lawyer. Sushma Reddy is Krish's associate. It's Christmas Eve in London. Two Indians, Irrfan Khan (Pipi) and, Tanushree Dutta (Sim) are arrested by the cops.
Famous lawyer, Krish (Anil Kapoor) steps in and decides to put up a legal fight to safeguard the rights of the Indians. He gets to the bottom of things and finally frees his countrymen. He is happy but his happiness is short-lived.
