One walks into the theatre expecting to watch a progressive film dealing with adult romance but unfortunately it disappoints. There is mature romance; Rishi Kapoor (Yash Khurana) and Dimple Kapadia (Sheetal Arya) do fall in love but the reaction of their kids is disgusting. For God's sake, this is a film set in the present times in good old Mumbai. So the kids' opposition to the relationship is totally unjustified and makes the film very regressive. It were almost like watching a 60s or 70s film.
Secondly, one also assumed that the film would dwell mainly on the Yash- Sheetal romance but unfortunately it doesn't. There are a lot of unwanted tracks especially the truth about Rishi and his son (Rajiv), Vikas Bhalla's relationship. The Soha Ali Khan-Sammir Dattani love track is also not required. There is melodrama here. Thus the gradual building up of the Yash- Sheetal relationship is neglected. It is just shown to progress quickly from friendship to fondness to love. All this ruins the film.
