Debutant director Soham deserves credit for attempting something daringly different but somewhere something goes wrong especially in the first one and a half hours of the film. The Shah Rukh- Malaika hot number leaves a lot to be desired. If the makers thought of cashing in on the Chaiya-Chaiya magic, then they have failed. Malaika looks a little old and her body is not exactly well-toned. Her thighs look slightly flabby. Cinematography by Santosh Thundiyil is excellent.
Now for performances. Except for Ajay Devgan, the rest are best left unspoken of. Wish the director had extracted performances from his actors instead of just concentrating on their looks. This makes the film emotionless. The girls don't have much to do in the film, except wear make-up and skimpy clothes. Can't really predict the fate of this film at the box-office for the youth (whom we presume it was targeted at) are bound to feel restless through most of it.
