It has become fashionable for film-makers to try offbeat subjects but at times in an attempt to be different, they end up making a mess of things. This is the case with ‘Vaada’. To give credit where it’s due, the film captures you in the first ten minutes but leaves you high and dry after that. Also it has an interesting climax, that is if the audience is still seated and hasn’t walked out by then! The basic premise of the film seems okay but the screenplay is a major letdown.
There is a blind man, Rahul (Arjun Rampal), who is not really blind but is pretending to be. To worsen things, we are forced to go through the agony of his friend (read enemy), Karan (Zayed Khan), getting suspicious about his blind status and devising ways and means to expose the truth.
