Two perfect love stories with imperfect endings! This is how the film is being promoted. And this is also what the film is all about but with an interesting twist.
Initially it sounds like the boy meets girl kind of love story. It's love at first sight for (Jai) Shahid Kapoor the minute he sets his eyes on Neha (Kareena Kapoor). After a big of hedging and hawing on her part and a bit of melodrama on Jai's part she is hooked.
This is the beginning of a perfect love story until tragedy strikes Neha. The doting boyfriend wants to leave no stone unturned to help his girl. So besotted in love is he that he doesn't even think twice about risking his life for her.
Now comes the interesting twist in the love story and also Vikram's (Fardeen Khan) entry into the frame. There is a bank robbery through Internet hacking. Why is Jai bearing the brunt of it when Vikram is the real culprit?
To reveal anything more would be unfair but the film becomes an interesting thriller. It moves at a brisk pace till it reaches an interesting climax.
What go in the film's favour is its fresh subject and an even fresher approach. Not to mention Shahid Kapoor who is brilliant in the film and is sure to walk away with the audience sympathy. Although Shahid is the goody goody guy and Fardeen is the one with the negative shade, the former surprisingly has walked away with the film. This will put to rest claims that the negative character is always more interesting and meatier than the positive character. It proves that the bottom line is 'good performance'.
