To say that the car is the hero of the film would be an understatement! But I guess the makers did not have much choice with a lead pair that is fresh and with zero market value, and a seasoned actor like Ajay Devgan only doing a brief appearance. So our wonder car fights and emotes exactly the way we do. It even changes its shape, drives any which way, becomes a motorboat and goes underwater, falls apart and pulls itself back together, and is never damaged. Wow! Doesn't that sound too much even for a wonder car?
'Taarzan-The Wonder Car' is a revenge drama but unfortunately instead of Ajay Devgan, it is the car that does all the bashing up in the film. So that way, credit is due to the makers for refusing to tread on the beaten path. But how well this novel concept goes down with the Indian audience waits to be seen over the next few days.
Now for the story. Raj (Vatsal Sheth) is the son of a car designer, Devesh (Ajay Devgan). Devesh designs a swanky car, much ahead of its times, and goes to a company to fix a deal. Does this remind you of Fardeen designing the world's fastest car in the disaster, 'Om Jai Jagadish'? Anyway, coming back to our story, the four partners (in crime!) in the company (Shakti Kapoor, Mukesh Tiwari, Pankaj Dheer, and Sadashiv Amrapurkar) disagree on certain terms and abort the deal. But without Devesh's knowledge, they copy the design of the car and register it in their name. When Devesh threatens to move the court, they kill him and throw him into a lake along with his car. They are aided by a corrupt police officer. Devesh's family is under the impression that he has died in an accident.
