Why are sequels always such huge disappointments? 'Hyderabad Blues 2' is no exception! The film takes off six years after the last ended. Unlike the raw charm of its predecessor this one is vying desperately for mass appeal although it does have its moments.
The light-hearted jokes have given way to toilet humour. The jokes really seem stale in this part 2. Check out the pallu dropping Shashi Aunty (Anu Chengappa). Also the Hindi and Telugu lingo does not work in this one like it did earlier. One reason could be that the memory of the part 1 is so strong in people's memories that the sequel impinges on it.
Varun (Nagesh Kukunoor) has chucked up his job in the U.S. to settle down with the girl he fell in love with. He has a successful career and marriage but something is missing. So although they have been married for six years the 7-year itch has already crept in.
He runs a call center while his wife, Ashwini (Jyoti Dogra), has a thriving medical career. She wants a kid while he doesn't. Reason enough for marital disharmony! She is helped by her best friend Seema (Elahe Hiptoola), who runs a marriage bureau.
Seema's husband Sanjeev (Vikram Inamdar), Varun's friend too offers perfectly useless advice that only to increase his problems.
