Produced by New World Enterprise Waah! Tera Kya Kehna, is supposed to be a comedy film but does it entertain viewers? Read on...

Krishna Oberoi (Shammi Kapoor) is a big industrialist, who's very fond of his grandson Raj (Govinda). Due to an accident, Raj loses his mental balance and reverts back to the mindset of a five-year old child. Unfazed by all this Krishna Oberoi still thinks Raj worthy of all his property. Hoping that some day Raj will be back to his old self Krishna Oberoi leaves him in the care of Murari (Kader Khan).

Krishna Oberoi has two sons Dilip and Ashish (played by Shakti Kapoor and Rana Jung Bahadur respectively) and another grandson Vicky (Monish Behl) who have their eyes on his wealth. They gang up to get a hold of his property, which apparently would go to none other than Raj.

Raj's uncles and his cousin Vicky see Raj's mental illness as the appropriate opportunity to take over the entire wealth of Krishna Oberoi.

To this end they all gang up and sideline Raj by sending him off to Shimla, which is Murari's hometown. In Raj's absence the scheming relatives get rid of old Krishna Oberoi.

Meanwhile, the luck sides with Raj's crooked relatives and Raj too goes missing after being struck by an avalanche in Shimla. The entire property is then taken over by the rest of the Oberoi family.

Just when the baddies think that all is hunky dory, there enters into picture a mysterious Banne Khan (Govinda), a look alike of Raj.

What happens next?

Directed by Manoj Aggarwal, Waah! Tera Kya Kehna is an attempted laugh riot but the film hardly manages to evoke mirth. On the contrary, the pranks seem to be forcibly put into the narrative and there are many useless, off-track comedy sketches that have nothing to do with the plot.

The first half of the film is vague and the story almost drags until the interval point (when Raj's look-alike and Raveena Tandon enter the scene) after which the plot gathers some momentum. But alas, the momentum doesn't last. The film picks up a little speed only to get bogged down in more unneeded comedy sketches, hackneyed action scenes, and tedious song picturizations.

Directorially, Manoj Agarwal fails to impress. In terms of light moments, usually the USP of any Govinda film, the film simply does not match up to the comedies Govinda has been associated with. On the technical front too, the film fails to impress. The screenplay and story are pathetic and with only one good number - 'Mujhe Teri Nazar Ne' - Jatin Lalit's music is best forgotten. Even the cinematography and dialogues are not worth a mention.

Govinda looks uninterested and out of form. Raveena's role isn't well defined, but she handles it with remarkable elan. Preeti Jhangiani looks out of place. Kader Khan is routine. Shammi Kapoor is his usual self. Shakti Kapoor is so-so. Mohnish Behl is loud.

On the whole, Waah! Tera Kya Kehna will appeal only to Govinda's hardcore fans.
