Director N Chandra’s latest flick, Style should be shown to aspiring filmmakers to teach them what never to do while making movies. Advertised as a fun-filled romantic thriller about the youth, Style turns out to be a loud, over-the-top attempt by the seasoned filmmaker who seems to have finally lost his mind.

The story is about two wannabe friends, Bantu (Sharman Joshi) and Chantu (Sahil) and two girls Sheena (Riya Sen) and Rani (Shilpi Mudgal), who study in the same college. All of them dress outrageously and behave worse. Bantu and Chantu are mischievous monsters but they are still liked by the other students because they have kind compassionate hearts (so what if they are brash and badly behaved at most times). Though they hail from middle-class backgrounds, they dress in designer clothes and eat at five star hotels. Their only aim is to become rich and for that they will go any length. Habituated to leading a high- class life, all they want is to become rich overnight and for that they plan an easy idea. They decided to woo any rich girl, so that they can climb up the social ladder. That’s where the heroines come in. Sheena & Rani are two young girls in their college who suit their requirements perfectly, so the guys target them. But there is a problem and that is that the girls cannot tolerate the boys. So, they decide to win over their hearts and in that process. They find themselves actually falling in love with the two women. And in the middle of all this is another murder mystery track involving actress Tara Deshpande, which is completely bizarre and out of sync. She is the gym teacher at their college and is stuck in a messy problem and the two heroes decide to get her out of it. Quite honestly, all these tracks only complicate the film’s story even more.

Directorially, Style is a complete disaster. The film is made by a man who definitely has no clue about today’s youth. N Chandra has ended up directing and producing an irritating movie that is a complete waste of time. Unless you love cheap jokes and loud farts, this one is highly avoidable. The main cast is all bad. Sahil looks like a robot and acts like one too. Riya Sen should stick to doing music videos. Sharman Joshi shows some promise and Shilpi Mudgal is awful. Sanjeev-Darshan’s music is catchy but a bit loud at most times. The Excuse Me number is sure to be a hit with the frontbenchers. Lyrics by Nitin Raikwar essay the Tapori feel well.

Cinematography by Manoj Gupta is okay, Nitin Desai’s art direction is mediocre and Lollypop’s choreography is more like a combination of PT drill and aerobics. Though there are some funny moments that will be loved by the Atthani crowds, the rest are going to completely dislike the film. Style has one main problem- and that is the movie has absolutely none of it!
