Jaswinder (Jimmy to friends in New York) from Patiala (Ritesh Deshmukh) goes to the U.S. with dreams of settling there. He meets the beautiful and sexy Sally Turner (Brande Rodericks) and befriends her. She falls for him easily (wonder how, when Ritesh looks just ordinary). He asks her for help for his visa extension. Sally is happy to oblige, but utters four magical words, "Will you marry me?" Jimmy agrees and the two get married in a church.
Life with Sally begins... But something else is in store for the two. Back home in Punjab, Jimmy's father, Jatta Singh Bedi (Amrish Puri) has made plans for his marriage to Richa (Hrishita Bhatt). He manages to return to America but trouble follows soon in the form of Richa and Jatta Singh. They suddenly land up in the country. How will Jimmy handle two wives? Where do his loyalties lie? Now begins Jimmy’s nightmare.
Despite the fact that the film tackles a serious issue, bigamy, the writers have made sure to pack the story with plenty of light moments but unfortunately they fail to keep the viewers hooked.
The twist in the tale comes when Ritesh suddenly falls in love with Richa. It makes the viewer wonder about the outcome of this love triangle.
The climax scene is a drag. The ending is not even touching. How can a man give up one wife so easily and callously? Jimmy comes across a bit of a wimp in the end. While his American wife is the independent woman, his Indian wife is a typical Bharatiya nari who will accept her man although he has cheated her.
